Who Would Have Guessed, Gun Control Failed in 1881 Also
As a voracious reader and student of all things Old West I can tell you unequivocally that “Gun Bans” as seen in Tombstone and other rowdy cow towns (Like Abilene Kansas for example where Wyatt Earp was also a Peace Officer) failed miserably and very often caused more problems than they sought to stop.
“Truth is, the oft mentioned Dodge City and Tombstone laws were selectively enforced because they had far more to do with disarming political, business and crime rivals than protecting public safety.”
Bottom line folks is that these historical “Local Gun Ordnances” were more times than not politically motivated at the local level (who would have guessed!) and consequently were as Unconstitutional THEN as they are NOW.
Anytime you seek to DISARM (and thereby punish) CITIZENS because of the actions of the CRIMINAL FEW you are going against the very ESSENCE of the SECOND AMENDMENT.
What part of “Shall Not be Infringed” is not being Understood?
