My Tuxedo Cat Franco passed away last night of natural causes at the amazing age of 16 which is roughly 80 years old in human years.
We found Franco underneath our house as a kitten and he bonded with my family instantly. He would often fall asleep next to me in my recliner on his back snoring. I often called him my “writing buddy” as he loved to get up in my lap while I was writing a story in the evening. Franco was mainly an outside cat although he did stay inside during the winter months. He was an amazing hunter, often catching birds, field mice, snake, baby rabbits and voles and proudly bringing them to the front door step to show he had earned his keep! He often enjoyed eating leftover spaghetti, giving him a red chin which earned him the nickname my wife gave him “Franco Spaghettio’s.”
Even though he was neutered, Franco lost his left eye fighting other cats. He was a tough as nails Warrior that could whoop any cat around! Losing his eye did not slow him down one bit however in anything he did.
He was a sweet, lovable cat that got to grow up with both my kids. My God how time flies! A man is truly blessed if he get’s to have one GREAT animal in his life and for me that was Franco. It was a real privilege to have him in my life.
I am Thankful for the Time we had together.
Gonna miss you buddy.
Until we meet Again in that Big Happy Hunting Ground.
