COMMON SENSE dictates that if you have a firearm for self-defense you need to be able to USE that firearm in an instant, Why?
Firstly because an unloaded gun is just a fancy paperweight and Second as a very wise man once told me: “Trouble does not make appointments, it just walks in.”
In other words, when you need a FIREARM to defend yourself, you are going to need it FAST!
I am old school so I keep all my ‘serious’ firearms in Condition 1 at ALL TIMES:
At the end of the day folks being comfortable with your firearms all comes down to Training and if you are like me since you were a kid you were taught that YOUR TRIGGER FINGER is the biggest GUN SAFETY of them all! (Refer to #3 of the Four Rules of Gun Safety).
