Cars registered in Texas after 2025 will no longer need to pass a safety inspection, but owners will still pay the fee
So the retarded Bureaucratic Brain Trust in Austin have decided that Non-Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspections at Registration are now a “Waste of Time and Money” but not to worry, they are still going to charge Joe Q. Taxpayer the $7.50 annually when we register our vehicles and place the money in the “General Revenue Fund” which officially should be used to improve Texas Roads and Bridges but in all reality is most likely just a euphemism for yet another “Political Slush Fund.”
Doing away with Safety Inspections is a REALLY BAD IDEA Governor Abbott.
Texans already have to deal with the PLAGUE of ILLEGAL unlicensed and uninsured motorist on the road (which in turn has driven up our Auto Insurance Rates, specifically uninsured motorist coverage.) So now in addition to that we are rewarded with an uptick in DANGEROUS vehicles on the road, such as overloaded pickup trucks on ball tires, Vehicles with one headlight or no turn signal and of course the stereotypical oil burning smoke machine.
That’s just Wonderful News. 😖
On a side note regarding Uninsured Motorist, two of the highest percentage States are in the Deep South: Mississippi (29%) and Alabama (19%). If you consider the primary racial demographic in those states, (Blacks) this is a very telling statistic, ie, Blacks are financially and Civically irresponsible!
