The Majority of Western Voters want Immigration to be Reduced (2023 data)
If Western nations were truly ‘democratic,’ we would not have open borders to begin with. The public opposed mass migration when it was originally forced upon us in the mid-to-late 20th century, and they still oppose it today.
America: 71% of Republican voters want immigration reduced and consider this the most important issue today (Gallup, 2023).
Australia: 70% of Australians want immigration reduced, 42% want it significantly reduced (TAPRI, 2023). 59% of Australians want to immigration “until we have sufficient affordable housing” (Guardian, 2023).
UK: 57% of Britons say immigration levels are too high — even supporters of Communist parties, like Labour (UnHerd, 2023).
European Union: 70% of Europeans within the EU are “worried about immigration” (EU Eurobarometer, Fall 2022).
Note: I don’t have any data on Canada, New Zealand, and most non-EU European countries. If you have any sources, please post them in the comments.
