Atlanta shooting: Police arrest suspected gunman as one killed and four injured in shooting at medical facility
Police have arrested a suspected gunman after one person was killed and at least four others were injured in a shooting at a medical facility in Atlanta.
The suspect, who has been named as 24-year-old Deion Patterson, was spotted by an undercover police officer in the Cobb County area, after he fled from the scene in a stolen vehicle.
A 39-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while four other women were wounded as a gunman fired shots in the building’s waiting room.
The women, whose ages range between 25 and 71, are “fighting for their lives at Grady Hospital”, Atlanta mayor Andre Dickens said.
Police said they found a vehicle matching the description of the one that was driven by the gunman in a car park, next to the baseball stadium where the city’s Atlanta Braves play.
