The Great American World War II Novelists

I remember reading James Jones The Thin Red Line in High School and being blown away by the dense, layered prose. It took me somewhere around three weeks to get through it because I would re-read some chapters twice.

Since then I read Jones’ WW2 trilogy to include From Here to Eternity, The Thin Red Line and Whistle.

Highly Recommended.
