In his later years Jeff Cooper was highly critical of the IPSC and other Competitive Shooting organizations for their over-emphasis on the use “race guns” versus everyday carry guns.
Bottom line, if you are going to use Competitive shooting to keep your skills sharp, TRAIN with what you carry (and wear) everyday and keep the drills practical and realistic to what you would face on the street.
