Another Reason to Be Armed #1: Armed Neighbor Saves Boy from Pit Bull Mauling

Posted on 13 January 2016 by The Tactical Hermit

With the recent upswing on the attack on the 2nd Amendment and RKBA, I am starting up a new segment called “Another Reason to Be Armed”. If you have any personal stories or come across any stories, please leave them in the comments section. I appreciate all my readers! -SF

Somewhere, everyday in the USA, 2100+ people use a gun for self defense, to stop a crime or save the lives of themselves or their family.

“We believe that the American public deserve to understand that on the average, guns save 2,191 lives and are used to thwart crimes every day,” says Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation

Most times you won’t see these tales on the news as it does not fit the main stream media’s story line of “Guns and Gun Owners are Bad“.

This is just one of those stories;

A husband and wife were at home in Pittsburgh, Pa. when the wife heard the screams of a 14-year-old neighbor. The boy was calling for help, as his 7-year-old brother was under attack by a pit bull. The wife alerted her husband, who retrieved a gun and went to the site of the attack.

When he arrived, the dog was on top of the boy, prompting the husband to shoot the dog in the rear in order to halt the attack and not harm the child. The first shot got the dog off the boy, but as the dog continued to act violently, the husband was forced to fatally shoot the animal. The husband then carried the boy, who suffered facial lacerations, out of the house. (KDKA, Pittsburgh, Pa. 01/10/16)
