As Many of you know, I am a big fan of movies, and during the Holidays, there are some that are just plain classics. “Home Alone” is one of our favorites along with “National Lampoons Christmas Vacation” , “A Christmas Story” (You’re Shoot Your Eye Out Kid!) and the usual smattering of typical Christmas fare: Rudolph, Frosty, The Christmas Carol Cartoon (with Jim Carrey as Scrooge) and we typically finish it all off with “Passion of the Christ”(I know not a Christmas Movie, but I feel it important my kids realize the Reason for the Season, which is not only Christ being born, but also his sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary.) Here is a very entertaining “tactical” look at one of our favorite movies, Home Alone. From all of us at the HCS Family, Have a Merry Christmas and a very Blessed and Propserous New Year in 2016! -SF
Home Alone” is the heartwarming story of plucky 8-year-old Kevin McCallister who defended his home from dopey burglars after his family forgot him when they went on vacation.
Or is it?
We have a sneaking suspicion that McCallister was deliberately left at home as part of some sadistic training regimen and pitted against unsuspecting burglars so he could refine and sharpen his tactical skills. Okay, that might not be true, but McCallister has a very impressive understanding of military tactics for someone his age. However, his innate affinity for setting up ambushes, traps, and conducting reconnaissance is undermined by his lack of experience.
To help any future home defenders protect their Christmas presents, we analyzed “Home Alone” and reviewed McCallister’s tactical missteps, along with the things we think he does well.
Watch our tactical review of “Home Alone” below.
