What the 10th Anniversary of Katrina Meant (and did) for me

The lame-stream lib-tard media had a real field day with the 10th Anniversary of Katrina…wow, they really took it to another level, didn’t they?

I could not even escape it watching Pre-Season Football for God Sakes..the one last refuge and place of relaxation any man has!! During the Texans and the Saints game, I had to listen to the announcers drone on and on about how “resilient” the people of New Orleans were.. blah, blah, blah. Gave me a headache honestly.

This whole Katrina Anniversary thing looks and feels more like a political shakedown than anything if you ask me. Let’s be honest: It is just another tool for Obama to stir up the racial discord in this country some more, plain and simple and try to win some sympathy and votes for his Democratic candidates.

Here is some more hard truth for you:

If Katrina teaches us anything, it is not to look back and feel sorry for all those people, it is to PREPARE and not repeat the same mistakes!!  People who really want to be self-sufficient, DO NOT depend on the Government for anything…. They Prepare. They Train. They spend their time and money on things to help them Survive TOMORROW, not just TODAY.

I was in East TX when Katrina hit with 2 young kids. We had no power and no water for 2 weeks, but we had prepared some. Was it tough? Hell Yeah! But I learned a lot of valuable lessons that I still apply today..and thats the key; learning lessons so we don’t repeat the same mistakes.

And enough already with blaming the Govt. about the Levees breaking… People who live on the Coast have no right to bitch about Hurricanes, just like people who live in Kansas have no right to bitch about Tornadoes!

And Oh Yeah, one more thing: If you don’t want to worry about Floods, don’t live in between a Huge Lake and the Gulf of Mexico! Remember that part about not depending on the Government? Yeah that goes for everything, including construction of levees.
