With Veterans Day on Sunday the 11th, I wanted to remind all my readers to not forget to Thank a Vet for their service, and say a prayer for those still in harms way. If you have the means, take the time to support any of the great Veterans centered organizations like The Wounded Warrior Project, The Gallant Few and Hope for the Warriors, just to name a few (All of these can be found in my LINKS.) These great charities need our help guys..these people are the true ground force in the War to take care of our vets once they get home.
Another great charity I was introduced to recently was the Lone Survivor Foundation, started my Fellow Texan and US Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell. This awesome organization provides ranch retreats and therapeutic support to returning men and women of the Armed Forces who have served on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. Take a moment and visit Marcus’ site and if you can, send him a dollar or five. I really admire somebody like Marcus, who have been through so much themselves (if you have not read Lone Survivor or Service yet, you need to buy those two books), but yet, still unselfishly, reach out to help others.
Also, don’t forget to contact your Congressman and Senators and let them know how you feel about the Veterans Administration being short-changed by the current Obama administration (not that the preceding administration fared much better). Giving our Vets the best care money can buy is the very least we can do for them after they laid it all down for us.
If the wisdom of old holds true and a “Nation will be judged by the way it treats it’s Veterans”, America as of right now, is in awful trouble of being judged harshly.
So go out today and Thank a Vet and as always, Stay Dangerous!
