Call me an old softy, but I simply love this time of year.
First of all, Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons. Blame my Northern European roots, but to hell with 103 degree summers! Go back to Africa for that non-sense! Secondly, there is Hunting Season (Fresh venison on the table, need I say more?) and Third you have two of the best Family Holidays on the entire Calendar: Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Christmas means a myriad of things to me personally. I won’t go into all of them right now, but here are my top three:
First and foremost it means that I not only recognize but CELEBRATE the Theological TRUTH of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world, who was born of a virgin and on the third day rose again. You mean you believe all that? You bet I do! Every blessed word of it and more than that I make CHRISTMAS IN MY HOME about Jesus and only Jesus!
Every year it seems the World adopts a renewed full-court press attack by seeking to take CHRIST out of Christmas in any way possible. Philadelphia, the city where the Declaration of Independence was signed two-hundred and thirty odd years ago but is now a virtual open-sewer of neo-liberalism announced during it’s Christmas Tree lighting ceremony that the tree would be referred to as the “Holiday Tree?”
Secondly, I recognize God’s blessings on my life for that year. As a family we go around the room and give a short speech on what specific blessings we are thankful for. You would be surprised how much of a positive and thankful mentality this creates in both yourself and your children!
Thirdly, I recognize the Importance and Blessing of FAMILY and understand that it is my God appointed Duty as a Father to both PROTECT my Family and ensure it stays STRONG.
Why is it important that our Families stay Strong?
Because they are under attack from the WORLD like no other time in history.
We are living in a time when everything UNGODLY and EVIL is lifted up and celebrated and anything GODLY, RIGHTEOUS and FULL OF LIGHT is shunned. We as Christians should not be surprised or perplexed by this fact. The WORLD will always be the ENEMY of the Things of God.
What we should be doing as STRONG CHRISTIAN MEN is actively protecting our Family from these EVIL influences by #1 Keeping these Things out of our Home! I will leave it up to you to decide how far you want to go with that, but the old adage “KILL YOUR T.V” is not a bad ideal!
We need to constantly be focused on STRENGTHENING our Family. How? Firstly by spending time with each other! I know that sounds really simple but think about it for a moment. During the height of COVID tyranny, keeping families separated and alone during the holidays all in the name of “civic responsibility” was accepted across the board as normal. We CANNOT ever allow that to happen again! Families and Communities must gather together and break bread together regularly to stay strong! Celebrate Family and Make no Excuses!
I would be remiss if I did not include this piece of advice: The Family that TRAINS together, STAYS together! No, you don’t have to design some three day survival course or Shoot House to TRAIN! Keep it Simple. Plan a camping/hiking trip or a day at the shooting range. For those families that are able, go hunting and fishing with your kids. I can promise you the time you INVEST now will pay HUGE dividends later!
I also want to say something about materialism and Christmas.
When I was a young “rookie” father and my kids were small, I mistakenly thought that the bigger and more expensive gifts I got them the better memories they would have. I suppose I got this ideal from my own childhood because my parent’s often went “overboard” to ensure we had a good Christmas. I would later learn that both my parent’s were raised in very low-income, blue collar homes and some Christmases were very slim in terms of gifts. This had a HUGE impact on my parents, especially my father, who was a self-made man with a monster work ethic who made it his mission to give us the Christmas he never had as a child.
I would urge all the young parent’s out there, DO NOT make the same mistake I did! Don’t go into debt for Christmas! If I had it to do over again I would have taken all that money I spent on expensive toys and put it into a Roth IRA or 529 College Plan for my Kids. Think about their Future instead of short term gratification. I can promise you when they get older they will thank you for it.

I must confess I have been slacking in the writing department and I fully intend to make amends for that. My goal for 2023 is to start writing more original essays. In my opinion you don’t have a right to bitch if you are not putting in the sweat equity standing up to the BS and God knows the Globalist/Communist Diverse Gay left are punching their time cards every day and even putting in overtime in that regard, so we on the Dissident Right better give ourselves a kick in the butt and start matching them.
I wanted to close with a very brief update on upcoming short stories as some of you have inquired when the next installments will be posted. I am currently working on several projects including a follow up to my western Medicine Gun and another Modern Crime Short. I also have a full length novel in the works that I intend to self-publish God willing.
