The gunmen in the SUV\u2019s immediately began to fire at authorities who began to fight off the attack as the chase ensued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s2\">Amid the firefight, one of the SUV\u2019s lost control and ended up rolling over on the city\u2019s south side. EMS arrived and the judge was transported to University Medical Center-Brackenbridge in Austin. Her injuries are reported to be extremely serious but not life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p>A neighbor of the judge told the <em>Austin American-Statesman<\/em> that she \u201cjust heard four pops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Austin newspaper also reported that the judge had just returned to her home after being out and others were with her when she was shot.<\/p>\n<p>Officer Mark Spangler, the head of the Austin Police Department robbery-homicide division said his division and the patrol division is investigating. He said they do not have a lot of information about the shooter, or persons responsible for the shootings. The escape was further aided by guards who had been playing video games instead of checking the video feeds of the cell.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The flawless escape was seen as a slap in the face of Mexican authorities since it is the second time that Guzman Loera has been able to escape from one of the most secure prisons in that country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Just last month, authorities came close to catching him after the capo sent his henchmen to bring him a\u00a0pet\u00a0monkey <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/texas\/2015\/10\/24\/mexico-continues-hunt-el-chapo-monkey-led-authorities-hideout\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Breitbart Texas<\/span><\/a> reported. The monkey named \u201cBoots\u201d is the favorite pet of his young daughters who according to Mexican news outlets had begged the drug lord to bring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">After tracking Guzman to his hideout the capo was barely able to escape and is believed to have been injured while fleeing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Guzman Loera is the current leader of the Sinaloa Federation, the most powerful cartel in Mexico.
