But she felt compelled to come to the ceremony and present flowers to honor them, given that no one had claimed their remains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so sad that no one claimed them,\u201d she said. \u201cI wanted to give thanks to them for all they\u2019ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"encrypted-content\">\n<p>She wasn\u2019t alone. About 250 people, including military personnel, veterans and civilians, showed up for the Forgotten Heroes Funeral for the 28 veterans, who died in Bernalillo County between January 2011 and June 2014.
