Tori Nonaka Explains it:) Weapons Education\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OvPWO6mPPts?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h3>About the 10mm Round<\/h3>\n<p>For those who are unfamiliar with the <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/FFOyoo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10mm round<\/a>, here is a short history.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_235573\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-235573\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ammoland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/10mm-Round-225x138.jpg?bf20e6\" alt=\"10mm Round\" width=\"225\" height=\"138\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">10mm Round<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dissatisfied with the performance of the 9mm cartridge in the 1970s and 1980s, a round was sought that would replicate the ballistics of the 357 Magnum round in a semi auto pistol. The result was the 10mm, but due to the pressure of the round, most existing platforms could not be used.<\/p>\n<p>A larger framed pistol based on the CZ75 was the first candidate (<em>known as the Bren Ten<\/em>) and the 1911 frame was adopted in the form of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colt.com\/Catalog\/Pistols\/CombatElite%C2%AE.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colt Delta Elite<\/a> in 1987.<\/p>\n<p>When the FBI decided to adopt the round, Smith &amp; Wesson adopted their double action 45 pistols to chamber the round in 1989, Glock followed two years later with their <a href=\"https:\/\/us.glock.com\/products\/model\/g20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">G20 Pistol<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Alas, the agents of the FBI found the recoil too harsh and a new round was created (<a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/FFOyoo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">40 S&amp;W<\/a>) with a reduced load and a shorter case that allowed the round to be chambered in 9mm sized pistols.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The 10mm cartridge would have perished, had it not been for a large fan base that cherished the qualities of the round for hunting and the sheer power factor of near Magnum handgun performance in a semiautomatic pistol.<\/p>\n<p>Read the Remainder at\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ammoland.com\/2015\/09\/glock-g40-gen4-a-10mm-masterpiece\/?utm_source=Ammoland+Subscribers&amp;utm_campaign=b788989252-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_6f6fac3eaa-b788989252-20724777#axzz3mZ4HdCj6\"> Ammo-Land<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>USA \u2013 -(Ammoland.com)-\u00a0At SHOT Show 2015, Glock unveiled a new pistol that flew a bit under the radar as people were clamoring for a Glock Carbine or a single stack 9mm.
