And some say that if the bees go, we go too.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>Jeff Pettis, president of Apimondia\u2014The International Federation of Beekeepers\u2019 Associations\u2014sums up the health benefits that bees offer humans in one word: huge.<\/h2>\n<h2>Although two-thirds of our diet comes from carbohydrates\u2014crops like rice, wheat, and corn\u2014which are pollinated by wind rather than insects, many other important foods require bees.<\/h2>\n<h2>\u201c<strong>So we\u2019re not going to starve if we don\u2019t have bees.
