Johnson allegedly confronted Morris, a father of two girls, as he was walking down the street.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"p_1_4\" class=\"container\"><span class=\"contents\">Police believe that Johnson pulled out a handgun and shot Morris multiple times. Morris was unarmed at the time of the shooting.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"p_1_5\" class=\"container\"><span class=\"contents\">When authorities arrived, they transported Morris to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"p_1_6\" class=\"container\"><span class=\"contents\">Following the shooting, Johnson barricaded himself inside a nearby home. Police were able to negotiate his surrender.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"p_1_7\" class=\"container\"><span class=\"contents\">Johnson has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts of felony firearm. He is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 23.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"p_1_8\" class=\"container\"><span class=\"contents\">If convicted, Johnson could face a life sentence.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"p_1_9\" class=\"container\"><span class=\"contents\">The incident underscores the importance of freedom of association, such as living in neighborhoods where persons with inherent characteristics are not allowed to live.
