It seems that we are regularly bombarded by attacks upon Southern heritage, history, Confederate flags and monuments, and often hear such ignorant comments as, \u201cConfederates were traitors,\u201d \u201cDemocrats are the party of slavery, racism, and the KKK,\u201d and the favorite one, \u201cthe Civil War was fought to free the slaves.\u201d Oh, let\u2019s not leave out \u201csegregation and Jim Crow Laws.\u201d<\/h2>\n
