It was what Karl Marx glowingly referred to as \u201cthe reconstruction of a social world.\u201d The Northern government, peopled at that time with a plethora of \u201cSouth haters,\u201d much like today, planned on destroying the history and traditions of the Old South and replacing them with Marxist monstrosities much like we see today.
