{"id":71045,"date":"2023-11-16T06:00:06","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T12:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/?p=71045"},"modified":"2023-11-16T05:35:20","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T11:35:20","slug":"armed-citizen-corner-where-should-you-sit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/index.php\/2023\/11\/16\/armed-citizen-corner-where-should-you-sit\/","title":{"rendered":"Armed Citizen Corner: Where Should You Sit?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-71046 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Sit787.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"479\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Sit787.jpg 479w, https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Sit787-300x269.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 479px) 100vw, 479px\" \/><\/h1>\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.activeresponsetraining.net\/where-should-you-sit\">Where Should You Sit?<\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Take a look at the photo above.<\/h2>\n<h2>If you were visiting a coffee shop, which seat would you pick?\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen recent articles discussing the topic and decided to weigh in with my opinion.<\/h2>\n<h2>When I am choosing seats in a restaurant, I use the following selection criteria:<\/h2>\n<h2>1) I prefer tables to booths.\u00a0 Tables are easier to maneuver around.\u00a0 Tables can also be overturned and used for cover\/concealment.\u00a0 It\u2019s much harder to do that in a booth.<\/h2>\n<h2 data-slot-rendered-content=\"true\">2) I want a clear view of the front door to see any potential threats enter.<\/h2>\n<div id=\"content_btf\" class=\"content_btf adunit\"><\/div>\n<h2>3) I want a view of the cash register (if there is one).\u00a0 If there is a low profile robbery (rather than an entire location takeover) it will occur at the cash register.<\/h2>\n<h2>4) I want a table that is close to the kitchen\/alternate exit.<\/h2>\n<h2>5) I prefer an area where there isn\u2019t a lot of foot traffic moving behind me.<\/h2>\n<h2>6) In busy urban locations with a large homeless population or a history of group street violence, I don\u2019t want to be next to any large glass windows near the front of the building or sidewalk.<\/h2>\n<h2>Those are my primary considerations.\u00a0 Looking at my preferences, what seat would you choose?<\/h2>\n<h2>The article\u00a0 where I originally found this photo (which has since been deleted) suggested that table A-B-C is the best spot.\u00a0 I would disagree.<\/h2>\n<h2>There\u2019s too much foot traffic heading to the bathrooms for those tables.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to have to physically watch that many people as they move behind me to use the toilets.<\/h2>\n<h2 data-slot-rendered-content=\"true\">The article also discusses the advantages of table \u201cI\u201d in being able to see every other position in the restaurant.\u00a0 I would avoid that one as well.\u00a0 Criminals call the seats with their backs in a corner where they can see every other seat in the venue the \u201c<em>cop seats.<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s where cops sit.\u00a0 The criminals know this and might look there to take out the \u201ccops\u201d at the first opportunity.\u00a0 Sometimes the best seat in a venue is also the worst seat.<\/h2>\n<div id=\"content_2_btf\" class=\"content_btf adunit\"><\/div>\n<h2>I would personally suggest occupying seats 1 or 2 at tables D, E, or F as the best seats in this particular layout.\u00a0 You can see the front door.\u00a0 You can see the cash register.\u00a0 You are close to the emergency exits, but you don\u2019t have constant bathroom traffic moving behind you\u00a0 to evaluate.<\/h2>\n<h2>Sometimes the \u201cprime seats\u201d in any particular location aren\u2019t\u00a0 always the \u201cmost tactical.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-71014 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blacks-Relaxx.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"710\" height=\"710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blacks-Relaxx.jpg 710w, https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blacks-Relaxx-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blacks-Relaxx-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 710px) 100vw, 710px\" \/><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Where Should You Sit? &nbsp; Take a look at the photo above.
