This is a long but worthwhile read.<\/h2>\n

The author, Capt. Dale Dye, USMC, Ret. is an astute Marine Corp and Military Historian. He was the military advisor on several series and movies such as Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Platoon.<\/h2>\n

I have mentioned this book before, but James D. Hornfischer’s The Fleet at Flood Tide<\/em><\/a> is hands down one of the best books I have read concerning the later Battles of the Pacific Campaign (1944-1945) to include Peleliu, Tinian, Guam, Saipan, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
