She did what she could do to protect herself in New Jersey.\u00a0 New Jersey judges kept her defenseless. \u00a0How did disarming Carol Bowne keep us safer?<\/p>\n Carol Bowne applied for a firearm purchase permit, the first step in buying a firearm for self-defense.\u00a0 It takes an honorable citizen like Carol up to nine months to buy a handgun.\u00a0 Thugs do it in an hour as they buy an illegal gun off the street.<\/p>\n The thugs are not the only ones who ignore New Jersey laws.\u00a0 State law requires authorities to reply to petitioners seeking a firearms permit within 30 days. \u00a0Ms Bowne called the police and asked about her Firearms Purchase Identification Card after waiting 41 days. \u00a0They said she had to wait. \u00a0She was murdered two days later on day 43.\u00a0 Carol Bowne bled to death in minutes.\u00a0 She died on her driveway suffering from multiple knife<\/a> wounds.\u00a0 Other states grant firearms permits in minutes through the national instant background check system.\u00a0 (NICS).\u00a0 Not New Jersey.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"Slow](\"https:\/\/hcsblogdotorg.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/06\/cb.jpg\")
