A large fire had broken-out at a tire-recycling plant.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It was massive and resulted in emergency evacuations of hundreds of surrounding homes for several blocks within the city. Flabbergasted displaced residents looked like columns of pitiable refugees fleeing a foreign invasion!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The \u201ctake-home message\u2019 is this:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Altogether unforeseeable events can unfold with such blinding speed that we \u2019ll be forced to grab whatever we can and evacuate with only a few minutes\u2019 warning. In fact, we may suddenly find ourselves run out of town with little more than what we\u2019re wearing and maybe what is in our car!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Accordingly, we all need to maintain a high state of personal readiness. A \u2018Basic Kit\u2019 needs to be constantly ready to go, at a minute\u2019s notice!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>That important lesson hit me square in the face as I watched!\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Comment:<\/h3>\n<p>The delusional notion of \u201c<em>entitlement<\/em>\u201d is common to all who do poorly in emergencies! When things suddenly go in the toilet, you\u2019ll predictably hear them whining with something like, \u201c<em>This is so unfair,\u201d<\/em> ad nauseam.<\/p>\n<p>Life does not consist of a series of \u201c<em>guarantees<\/em>,\u201d although seedy politicians [like Clinton] would have us believe that it is possible. Think about disaster ahead of time. Plan accordingly. Always be looking for a way to win, not an excuse to lose!<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t wait. Don\u2019t hesitate. Don\u2019t ask permission (<em>you don\u2019t need it<\/em>). Don\u2019t apologize. Don\u2019t look back.
