Charged with Reckless Conduct with a firearm<\/p>\n<p>Frankie Dejesus of Rochester, N.Y.\u00a0 Charged with Aggravated Assault<\/p>\n<p>Diana Davis of Rochester, N.Y. Charged with Aggravated assault<\/p>\n<p>Samantha Tupper is the blond local woman from Augusta, ME.\u00a0 She is charged with a probation violation.<\/p>\n<p>Media competition is keen in these days of new media and the Internet. If one outlet does not cover an interesting angle, another will.\u00a0 Some times you have to look at several sources to find things left out of the picture in others. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wcsh6.com\/news\/local\/augusta-waterville\/augusta-police-bystanders-carrying-legally-prevented-walmart-shooting-from-escalating\/257256957\">From wcsh6.com<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tr_bq\"><p><i>AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) \u2014 Augusta Police say two bystanders, legally armed with handguns, stepped in during a shooting incident at a Walmart in Augusta.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>Police say four suspects were taken into custody by police Sunday after allegedly firing gunshots in the parking lot of a Walmart.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The suspects involved were sitting in vehicles parked next to each other when the altercation arose. The occupants of one vehicle fired at the occupants of the other, which resulted in return gunfire.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When the shooting stopped, police said one suspect exited their vehicle to confront the occupants of the other. This is when two bystanders, who were legally carrying, interfered and stopped the incident, police said.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>More details are reported by a local television station. Note that when one responsible and armed person stepped up, another backed him up. \u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/wabi.tv\/2016\/06\/27\/armed-shoppers-help-detain-suspects-in-augusta-wal-mart-shootout\/\">From wabi.tv<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>\u201cTwo vehicles that had appeared were parked next to each other. The occupants inside exchanged gunfire and then there was an altercation after that between the occupants in the parking lot,\u201d said Lt. Christopher Massey with Augusta PD.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>During the altercation, customer Daniel Chavanne, who was about to leave with his wife and kids, took matters into his own hands. We\u2019re told Chavanne, a licensed concealed carrier, drew his firearm and diffused the situation. Then another armed shopper came to Chavanne\u2019s aid.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf they hadn\u2019t stepped in, somebody would have been hurt, severely hurt. You know one of my kids could have got shot,\u201d said Chavanne\u2019s wife, Carrie.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While Dan Chavanne may have a concealed carry license now, he started as an open carrier at the age of 18. In Maine, when Chavanne was 18, he could legally open carry, but could not obtain a concealed carry permit. <a href=\"http:\/\/wgme.com\/news\/local\/central-maine-man-recounts-stopping-augusta-shooting\">From wgme.com<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>\u201cThe way the fight was going, I have no doubt if myself and the other person didn\u2019t intervene there would have been at least one body there,\u201d Dan Chavanne said.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>Dan says he\u2019s open carried since he was 18, because of situations like this.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf you\u2019ve got the background, the experience and the training there\u2019s no reason not to carry,\u201d Dan Chavanne said.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Chavannes said that the criminals were really bad shots.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16911\" src=\"https:\/\/hcsblogdotorg.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/06\/gun11.jpg\" alt=\"gun1\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wgme.com\/news\/local\/central-maine-man-recounts-stopping-augusta-shooting\">\u00a0Link to video Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chavvane\u2019s personal defensive handgun was a subcompact Glock, likely a Model 43 or 42.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-293063 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ammoland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Dan-Chavanne-Glock-Pistol-450x253.jpg?c00a29\" alt=\"Dan Chavanne Glock Pistol\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The other good Samaritan did not have their name released.\u00a0 There is no mention of whether or not they had a concealed carry permit.\u00a0 Maine became a permitless or \u201cConstitutional\u201d carry state in October of 2015.
