CVS should be ashamed and re-instate this man ASAP. -SF<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/CIO-Wilvsww\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/CIO-Wilvsww<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When two suspects tried robbing a Maryland CVS on Friday, Army veteran Joe Morici sprang into action.<\/p>\n<p>And it cost him his job.<\/p>\n<p>Morici, who served seven years in the Army, including a stint in Afghanistan, was fired from his management job at a Beltsville CVS because he intervened and tried to catch the men, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox5dc.com\/news\/local-news\/99366590-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FOX5 reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But Morici said his reactions were purely based on instinct when two men tried robbing the CVS pharmacy during his shift.<\/p>\n<p>He quickly told cashiers to call 911 and helped an elderly man out of the store before locking the doors, preventing the suspects from leaving. Then he confronted them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two kids ran into the door, which was closed now, and Joe got one of them and had him,\u201d Chick Hernandez, a customer in the store at the time, told FOX5. \u201cThe kid, he had said to his partner, \u2018Shoot him.\u2019\u2026And then Joe said, \u2018I\u2019ve been in the military far too long. You don\u2019t have anything.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It turned out there was no gun, though one of the suspects held a screwdriver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t really know that they didn\u2019t really have one,\u201d Morici said. \u201cI just kind of assumed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morici grabbed the screwdriver, but eventually the men got away.<\/p>\n<p>When Morici\u2019s boss arrived, however, Morici said he was told he was being terminated because of his actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy boss, when he came in to deliver the news, he was sick to his stomach,\u201d Morici said. \u201cHe didn\u2019t want to, but he didn\u2019t have a choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to FOX5, CVS said it would \u201cnot comment on specific security procedures or polices as we do not want to undermine them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morici said since news of his heroics went public he\u2019s received numerous job offers and interview opportunities. He\u2019s also applied for a position with the Prince George\u2019s County Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy Facebook has been blowing up from people all over the country just thanking me and reposting it,\u201d Morici said. \u201cI\u2019ve got people from Wichita, Kansas to the Philippines. People back home are calling me.
