{"id":12628,"date":"2016-03-03T12:15:45","date_gmt":"2016-03-03T18:15:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hcstx.org\/?p=12628"},"modified":"2016-03-03T12:15:45","modified_gmt":"2016-03-03T18:15:45","slug":"another-reason-to-be-armed-you-stopped-mass-murder-february-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thetacticalhermit.com\/index.php\/2016\/03\/03\/another-reason-to-be-armed-you-stopped-mass-murder-february-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Reason to be Armed: You Can Stop Mass Murder, February Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ordinary citizens stopped mass murder.<\/strong> \u00a0<em><strong>Mass murder is defined as four or more victims killed in the same event.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Many people were at risk in the stories this month. \u00a0Armed citizens like you saved lives until the police could come and make an arrest.\u00a0 You did it, and the media never gave you credit.<\/p>\n<p>Let me say, \u201cThank you!\u201d \u00a0Here are a few of the news stories since <a href=\"https:\/\/slowfacts.wordpress.com\/2016\/01\/27\/armed-self-defense-for-january-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported in mid-January.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12633\" src=\"https:\/\/hcsblogdotorg.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/03\/g1.jpg\" alt=\"G1\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adn.com\/article\/20160119\/armed-man-who-helped-stop-anchorage-mall-robbery-i-carry-so-i-m-ready\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You saved lives in a shopping mall.<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>22 year old Matthew Willhite was carrying his handgun concealed as he does every day. \u00a0This day he was with his girlfriend in a sopping mall in Anchorage, Alaska. \u00a0It was an ordinary day.. until a mall security guard approached another man and told him to stop. \u00a0The man was being detained for shoplifting. \u00a0The shoplifter was armed, and the shoplifter drew his gun and pointed it at the security guard. \u00a0The guard pushed the gun away and the two men struggled.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Willhite heard the security guard yell \u201cGun, gun, gun!\u201d and then yell for help. \u00a0Willhite pulled his own firearm and pointed it at the armed thief. \u00a0Willhite said\u00a0<em>\u201cthat I had a gun and he should drop it, and he eventually saw (the 45). \u00a0Once he dropped (his) gun, the security officer handed it to me, so I kicked it behind me and kept (my gun) on him until the security officers put handcuffs on him.\u201d<\/em> \u00a0Willhite said he had his gun at <em>\u201can angle where he could see me, but nobody else (behind him) was going to get hurt.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Some critics would say this example shouldn\u2019t count as armed defense because Matthew didn\u2019t fire his gun.\u00a0 Honest armed civilians use their legally owned firearms thousands of times a day in self-defense.\u00a0 Fortunately, few of them are forced to press the trigger.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/local\/broward\/deerfield-beach\/fl-deerfield-store-shooting-folo-20160116-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You saved lives in a convenience store.<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>This incident started with a loud bang. \u00a0The robber stepped past the customers standing in line and started shooting. \u00a0The store owner and another employee grabbed guns that were hidden behind the counter at Snappy\u2019s Convenience Store in Deerfield Beach, Florida. \u00a0 The owner and employee fired back .. several times. \u00a0The store owner\u2019s gun jammed.\u00a0 By the time the store owner secured <strong>a third gun<\/strong> that he had hidden behind the counter, the thief was down and out of the fight.<\/p>\n<p>This was the third time the store owner faced an attempted armed robbery. \u00a0This was the third time they fought back and prevailed.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wltx.com\/story\/news\/local\/2016\/01\/22\/heavy-police-presence-ft-jackson-boulevard-colujmbia-sc\/79201836\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You saved lives in a barbershop.<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Two masked and armed criminals pushed their way into a crowded Columbia, South Carolina barbershop.\u00a0 One of the robbers carried a long gun and the other had a handgun.\u00a0 The robbers told the men, women and children in the shop that they were going to die if they didn\u2019t do as they were told. \u00a0 The two thugs told the customers to put their hands up, and one by one, to empty their pockets. \u00a0Fortunately, two of the victims had concealed carry permits.. and they were armed.\u00a0 The barber told the robber that his money was on a shelf behind the barber chair. \u00a0When the robber turned, the barber and another store customer started shooting. \u00a0Their shots struck one of the robbers several times.<\/p>\n<p>The two criminals ran from the barbershop.
