\u201cRight now, people on the No-Fly list can walk into a store and buy a gun,\u201d Barack Obama told the country<\/a> as he attempted to find a scapegoat for his Homeland Security Department totally blowing letting the \u201cbetter half\u201d of the San Bernardino terror tag team into the country. \u201cThat is insane.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re too dangerous to board a plane, you\u2019re too dangerous, by definition, to buy a gun,\u201d Obama explained, continuing with misdirection about killer \u201cmotives\u201d and setting the stage, naturally, for further infringements of the Second Amendment. \u00a0\u201cAnd so I\u2019m calling on Congress to close this loophole, now.\u201d<\/p>\n

That \u201cloophole\u201d is a pesky thing called \u201cdue process,\u201d and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty due every American.\u00a0 As for foreigners, if they\u2019re too dangerous to let on a plane, what\u2019s insane is allowing them to\u00a0be here moving freely among us in the first place.<\/p>\n

But, following \u201cprogressive\u201d Opposite Day \u201clogic,\u201d if we assume Obama actually believes it, anyone who opposes him on this is insane. No problem,\u00a0he\u2019s got that group slated<\/a> for a federal gun prohibition, too. And yes, of course without full\u00a0legal protections for the accused<\/a> equivalent to a jury trial.<\/p>\n

So if he\u00a0suspects you\u2019re a terrorist, and no, he\u2019s\u00a0not going to tell you how and why, because that\u2019s a secret, too bad.<\/p>\n

Naturally, the \u201ccrusading watchdog media\u201d is beside itself with tail-thumping ecstasy at the prospect of master being pleased. Veteran political blood dancers, like Connecticut Gov. Dannell Malloy<\/a>, can\u2019t wait to start in with dictated\u00a0prohibitions and confiscations. Ditto for ambitious\u00a0New York State Senator Jeff Klein<\/a> (may we assume, as the failed Sheldon Silver defense<\/a> maintained, that he, like all NY politicians, is corrupt?).\u00a0 Neither has seen fit to mention the overwhelming noncompliance with existing Intolerable Acts in their respective states, and how adding another unconstitutional edict that invites mass defiance will impact any but those inclined to obey out of fear.<\/p>\n

Certainly real terrorists won\u2019t skip a beat, and they\u2019ll probably appreciate the heads-up that they\u2019ve been made.\u00a0 And that brings us to just who the \u201cterrorists\u201d are, at least according to the indignant weasels\u00a0who don\u2019t like you owning guns.<\/p>\n

If you listen to the hyperventilating libel at The New York Daily News, NRA\u2019s Wayne LaPierre fits the bill<\/a>. Lest you think that\u2019s just idle hyperbole, do a Google search for keywords \u201cNRA\u201d and \u201cterrorist.\u201d Then note the influential \u201cprogressive\u201d advocacy group, MoveOn.org, is hosting a \u201cDeclare the NRA a terrorist organization<\/a>\u201d petition, a sentiment echoed by The New York Daily News\u2019 resident Stasi<\/a>, the same sick harpy who equated a conservative San Bernardino murder victim<\/a> with his Islamist executioners.<\/p>\n

If they\u2019re ready to call NRA members terrorists, can calling for the detention of gun rights advocates more hard core than\u00a0Wayne LaPierre be far behind?\u00a0 That\u2019s old news.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese town hall terrorists could be declared enemy combatants and bundled off to Bagram with the stroke of a pen,\u201d tyranny fanboy\u00a0Ted Rall said of lawful open carriers<\/a>. \u201cIf ever there was a reason for suspending civil rights, this is it.\u201d<\/p>\n

So then what of colleague Mike Vanderboegh, pegged an \u201cextremist\u201d by the Southern Poverty Law Center, as\u00a0AP noted in a Friday report<\/a>.\u00a0 What of me, his friend and associate? What of our hosts here at AmmoLand?\u00a0 What of you who read this site, agree with much of it and share its posts?<\/p>\n

We are the people the totalitarian lobby is itching to disarm. And that\u2019s why this latest bit of \u201cofficial\u201d\u00a0domestic terrorism\u00a0masked by the noble-sounding goal of keeping us all safe\u00a0is so insidious, and has the potential to get extremely dangerous for everyone. Especially considering the confiscations being called for, and what that means to those who will not surrender their property or their rights to oath-breaking\u00a0usurpers.<\/p>\n

To quote poet Dylan Thomas, some of us will \u201cnot go gentle into that good night.\u201d I\u2019ve actually had repeating that line held against me<\/a> before. But it\u2019s true, particularly for original Second Amendment intent advocates smeared as \u201cinsurrectionists.\u201d<\/p>\n

As things stand, the immediate danger is being intensified\u00a0by prominent Republicans siding with the concept\u00a0of watchlist prohibitions, notably by some of the presidential candidates, including one who\u2019s been forgiven for past betrayals and supported by the \u201cterrorist\u201d NRA. Barring unforeseen developments taking precedence, I expect to address that inexcusable sellout, along with a developing potential disappointment, in my next offering.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: The\u00a0follow-up article anticipated in the previous paragraph will still happen, but there\u2019s no hurry and there are some other stories I want to get to first.<\/p>\n
