Veteran Frank Levingston, oldest man in the US, dies at age 110

The oldest Part of the Greatest Generation ever to grace the face of the earth is gone. May he be Remembered Forever.

Frank Levingston, the oldest veteran in the United States, passed away Tuesday, May 3 at the age of 110 at a nursing home for veterans in Bossier Parish, La., according to family members.

Levingston was also the oldest man in the United States. He held the title for less than a month following the death of Felix Simoneaux Jr. on April 19.

Born in 1905 in North Carolina, Levingston grew up as one of seven children. After enlisting in the Army in 1942, he took part in the Allied invasion of Italy as a private. The campaign lasted from September 1943 to January 1944.
